Mrs. Patricia L. Farmer in loving memory of Mr. Barry D. Farmer

Mrs. Patricia L. Farmer has established a scholarship in loving memory of her husband of 36 years, Mr. Barry D. Farmer who passed away at the age of 55 in 2004. Patricia and Barry both walked the halls of Gaston College as students in the late 1960’s pursuing degrees in Nursing and Civil Engineering, respectively. Barry Farmer was very involved in the life of the College, serving as the student body president in 1968. After graduation from Gaston College, Barry and Patricia moved to Georgia for Barry to complete a degree in Civil Engineering at Southern Tech. They chose to return to NC to make a home for their family and Patricia completed a bachelor’s degree in Nursing at the University of NC in Charlotte. Patricia and Barry held fond memories of their early days at Gaston College and before his passing agreed to give back to the place that gave them their start.
