The Gastonia Civitan Club

This fund has been established in memory of David L. Friday, Jr. who served as the first president of the Gastonia Evening Civitan Club when it was chartered in 1969. Through the years, Mr. Friday advanced in the service of Civitan to be Lt. Governor of Area III and Governor of North Carolina District West. He was a graduate of Dallas High School and Wake Forest University and was president of Gastonia Belting Company. Mr. Friday was a director of the Heart Society of Gaston County and the Flynn Fellowship Home
