Synthetic Yarn and Fabric Association Scholarship
The Synthetic Yarn and Fabric Association (SYFA) is a non-profit organization comprised of individuals affiliated with the synthetic yarn and fiber industry. Representation in the industry includes fiber producers, texturizers, staple yarn manufacturers, fabric producers for apparel, automotive, upholstery, and industrial markets. Additionally, raw material suppliers, equipment manufacturers, and service providers related to the industry are valuable contributors to the organization.
YFA was founded in 1972 as the Textured Yarn Association of America to address the needs of a rapidly growing textured yarn industry. In 2007 its name changed to the Synthetic Yarn and Fiber Association (SYFA) to reflect its focus on synthetic fiber through the final fabric supply chain and in 2016, changing its name again to incorporate final fabric to finished, branded products and became the Synthetic Yarn and Fabric Association.
