The Cpl. Katelyn Self Scholarship

The scholarship fund has been established by Diane Crosby Self and Taylor Self Potter in memory of Corporal Katelyn Self. Cpl. Self was raised in Dallas and was a graduate of North Gaston High School and attended Gaston College. She was a Deputy with the Gaston County Sheriff’s Office for four years before being tragically killed on May 20, 2018. To honor her memory as a loving and devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to all, her family has established this scholarship to provide financial support for students pursuing a career in Law Enforcement. Scholarships distributed from this Fund may only be awarded to recent graduates who have achieved a minimum high school GPA of 3.0. or a College GPA of 2.5, for current students. Financial need is not a requirement for this scholarship but may be considered. Scholarship is not renewable for a second year.
